About Plus
PLUS is a charitable company led by people who have
used mental health services. PLUS objectives include;
the promotion of mental health as a concern for everyone;
challenging stigma and prejudice; influencing positive
changes in mental health services and promoting an
inclusive society where everyone has a role. Plus offers
opportunities for individuals recovering from mental illness
to utilise their strengths and assets in contributing to the
work of PLUS. Activities include, running mental health
service user forums, research and training, campaigning
and awareness raising, projects promoting community
spirit and providing information on mental health matters.
The principles of recovery - the promotion of hope,
optimism and a better future for people who have suffered
mental illness - underpin all the work we do. PLUS has a
clear goal of citizenship for all its members.

 PLUS is a local mental health charity covering Perth & Kinross. It is in its ninth year of existence and is staffed by one Development Manager, an Involvement worker and an operational support worker. The project is based at 77 Canal Street, Perth and the office is open between the hours of 9.30 am and 2:30 pm Tuesday to Friday for mental health enquiries. Within the last year PLUS membership has increased to over 210 with a total of 18 active volunteers. We are continually seeking volunteers.
